Fave African Songs Part 2

1.Winky D- Disappear
I’m not the biggest fan of Zim dancehall but this song tho! Its such a feel good song

2.Dbn Nyts ft. Zinhle Ngidi & Trademark- Shumaya
I kept hearing this song during my December holiday in Zimbabwe & South Africa. But didn’t know the name or the artist. I would type in google “shumbaye” because that’s what I thought they were saying. I finally asked my aunt and she gave me the name. The music video makes me want to go back to Cape Town or matter of fact  just transfer to the University of Cape Town.

Unconventional,

Sometimes I feel very unsure about my success in life. Before last semester I always thought that I wanted to become a physician. Then, I took some of my core sciences classes and hated them. I quickly  slipped into a hole where I had no motivation was just going through the motions.

Dealing with rejection,

Cape Town Winter'15

Sometimes, I automatically correlate rejection from something that I really wanted with “God hates me” or “God is punishing me because I keep sinning or keep doing the same sin over and over again”.  Does this make sense?  No okay. But this was literally the first thought that came to my head when I found out that I didn’t get an internship that I really wanted.
I was really hoping to get the IBM Leading to Africa internship  internship.

Fave African Songs

(Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, one of the seven wonders of the world)

This  list is compiled  of  afrobeats and the good ol' stuff I grew up listening to. But first let me sidetrack for a quick second, I didn't know how AMAZING afrobeat was until I spent the summer before my senior year in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Now my afrobeat list has been strongly influenced by my West African peeps in the African Student Union at my Uni. The electrifying beat just makes me wanna DANCE. Okay, on to the list

Fall Semester Wrap Up

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I have constantly been thrown out of my comfort zone, and I'm slowly learning that it is okay.  All throughout high school I have had two great friends that I can count on/hang out with while at school. Well one of my good friends attends  college all the way in Cali the other one attends a college near home. Ii is beyond weird not having a solid friend here in college like I did back in high school but hopefully this will change.
